I am always up for a good road trip and adventure, but one that will take me down the road of nostalgia and to a place that I always hoped would be real? made it all the more magical. As a child, I was obsessed with Disney channel . I had to see every new episode and every new movie unless you watched Lizzie McGuire and Hannah Montana every week , you most certainly had no idea what was going on in your friend group. Every Halloween Disney always created the best non-scary Halloween movies. A personal favorite was The Halloweentown series. I even find myself still watching them as a young adult. When I found out that about two hours away from me was where the film was originally filmed and that they do a month-long Halloween festival including bringing the set back to life I knew that it was an opportunity that I could not miss.
Upon arrival, it was hard not to notice that giant city hall building. It was so beautiful in person and all I could picture was Kalabar standing on top of it and yelling at Marnie. It was hard not to notice all of the lovely decorations out on the lawn. Doug and I choose to go on a Wednesday to miss the giant crowds. where we now agree that if we were to do it again, we would go on a weekend.
Halloween Town would not be complete without the giant happy pumpkin in the middle lit by the Merlin’s Talisman. And of course the amazing Taxi Driver Benny.
We also choose to travel along the Louis and Clark discovery trail which was a tile path throughout the courtyard.
When we were done with the trail we headed over the marina. I love being by the water! It is so calming and beautiful to look at. One of the things I love about being in Oregon is that I am only 2 minutes walking distance from the river.
But being so close to Portland ,of course ,we had to stop in to visit Salt and Straw! without a doubt the best Ice cream in OREGON!
Thank you for reading along. I look forward to sharing more adventures with you all soon.
